                The tugs byPellaare vessels of new generation, successfully operating in all major Russian harbours. High quality and contemporary technical equipment of overall production were appreciated also by customers from Europe, who are rewardingPellawith growing ordersvolumes. The ordersportfolio for the years to come envisages yearly production output in volumes not lower than 3 billion roubles and a yearly release of 12-14 units of maritime equipment.Pellais also widely reputed as a wharf, offering tugs delivery in very tight deadlines: the period from contract signing to production release doesnt exceed 12-13 months.

The company acquired its present name in 1996. NowadaysPellaoffers batch production of a whole array of highly manoeverable new generation tugs with horsepower ratings ranging from 1500 to 5000 h.p., that are operating in all major harbours of Russia and CIS countries, such as Novorossiysk, Saint-Petersburg, Primorsk, Ust-Luga, Nakhodka, Temryuk, Kaliningrade, Vanino, Murmansk, Makhachkala, as well as harbors of the Baltic states, Scandinavia (Norway) and Italy.

Tugs are irreplaceable components of every harbour. They ensure escorting, towing of heavy tonnage vessels, their safe sail and berthing. They are fully automatized, highly manoeverable and economizing, azimuth thruster vessels of projects 90600, 166009, Rascal 2000 and the escorting tug PE-65, equipped with technology from leading world manufacturers - Caterpillar, Cummins, Rolls-Royce, Desmi, Furuno, Heinen&Hopman and others.The enumerated tugs, alongside obligatory working operations, are able to combat fire on external objects and to remove oil spills. The latter is of big importance, considering the ever-growing volumes of oil transportation and the subsequent necessity to ensure safety of cargo operations in oil terminals.

JSCPellais also building modern pilot boats, destined for piloting support of big ships on maritime communications, and hydrographic ships.

 

In 2011 it is thought to propose two new projects. The firsta multi-task rescue tug PS-45 of unlimited operational space, able to perform several tasks: approvisioning of floating objects with material and equipment, personal and cargo transportation to remote marine objects, rescue operations, life and help assistance to drowning ships, search, saving, evacuation and displacement of people, medical help; high-seas towing of ships, floating objects and facilities in icy and and free waters, fire extinguishment on coastal and floating objects, battling burning surface fuel fires; executing of underseas operationsin a word, a multi-task rescue tug. The second is a multifunctional vessel of complex harbour servicing SKPO-1000, with a deadweight of 1300 tonnes, destined for towing and berthing of ships, removal of drain and fuel waters and dry garbage, removal of oil spills, servicing of floating objects of navigational fences (buoys). This know-how ofPellais to become the incorporation of long-lasting engineering solution search and technical creativity of its specialists.

Pellais a stock company with production capacities displaced on a territory of 13 hectares, main production fonds denomination of some 1,8 billion roubles and staff comprising 1500 people. The structure of JSCPellais build up on a holding principle basing on the head company, unifying other affiliated and dependant enterprises, which, while being self-governed legal entities, still discern proper characteristics of a single technology chain of production process.Pellarejoices in a long-lasting cooperation with leading Russian banksJSCSberbankand JSCNomos-Bank, that are financing the companys necessary credit loans.

In order to secure the companys further innovative development the decision was taken to build an additional shipbuilding facility; an act on choosing land was agreed concerning 19,9 ha of ground in the town of Otradnoye some 3 km down the river of Neva, with fairway depth not lower than 6 m. Realisation of the investment projectModernization and development of capacities of JSCPellaby byilding high-tech vessels with length up to 100 m and draft of 5,5 mwas scheduled for the period 2011-2013. The company is sure to fulfill this aim, disposing of all necessary capacities and human resources. Main parameters of the projects technical and economy foundation do certify its innovative approach and effectivity. The early budgeting program for production release, provided the activation of all company capacities, will mount towards a total turnover no less than 8 billion roubles.

The realization of such a big scale investment project should allow to create , in the Kirov area of the Leningrade region alone, around 1400 new working places, and to embark upon a yearly output of some 5-6 modern, advanced maritime vessels for the sake of the renewal of Russian transport, fishing and special purpose technical fleet. Leading Norwegian and South Korean manufacturers are participating in the engineering, planning and equipment process of construction of this utterly new shipbuilding complex. Innovation technologies are to be used while designing, construction and launching of vessels, which is to secure the increase the workforce productivity and budget deductions to all budget levels. Ecology requirements are to be fulfilled unconditionally, as well as are environment protection duties. In the end, plans are being agreed to further enhance socio-economic well-being of the companys employees and their families, living in Otradnoye town of the Kirov area of Leningrade region.
